1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using TagMe (tagme.ca), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
TagMe provides QR-based tags that enable anonymous communication between people who find lost items and the item owners. The service includes:
- QR tag generation and management
- Anonymous messaging between finders and owners
- Email and push notifications
- A web-based dashboard for tag management
3. Account Registration
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the service
- One person may not maintain more than one account
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the service for harassment, threats, or abuse
- Send spam or unsolicited messages through the platform
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to send messages or create tags
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit the service
5. Tag Ownership
- Tags are linked to your account and are non-transferable (transfer feature coming soon)
- Free accounts are limited to 3 active tags
- Unclaimed tags found by users may be claimed for free
- We reserve the right to deactivate tags used in violation of these terms
6. Messaging
- Messages are subject to rate limiting (5 consecutive messages without a reply)
- We do not monitor message content but reserve the right to investigate reported abuse
- TagMe is a communication platform — we are not responsible for the actions of finders or owners
- We do not guarantee the return of lost items
7. Privacy
Your use of TagMe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with PIPEDA.
8. Limitation of Liability
- TagMe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee that lost items will be returned
- We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the service
- We are not responsible for the conduct of finders or owners
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service
9. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability.
10. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
- Upon termination, your tags will be deactivated and data will be retained per our Privacy Policy
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
